BRIEF
01
Design posters and Social Media assets for a Burns Night in Brewhemia, Edinburgh.
Burns Night has been a Scottish tradition for over 200 years, and Brewhemia were looking for a new campaign for their 2022 event. The intent was to depict The Bard with a Brewhemia twist, with a poster, social media content and website elements.
SOLUTION
02
The way we approached this brief was to meld the traditional imagery of Burns with an Art Nouveau style, most notably the works of Alphonse Mucha. Constructing Mucha's trademark decorative oval shape behind Burns, we incorporated elements of Scottish iconography such as the roses from Scottish artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh and other decorative assets associated with the Scottish poet.
RESULT
03
The final output was a piece that looked modern yet vintage, capturing the bohemian vibe and staying on-brand with the establishment. With Burns instantly recognisable, the fusion of styles and imagery created an unconventional approach to Burns Night promotion.
